The 15 promises of saying the Rosary
1
|
Whoever shall
faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall receive powerful
graces.
|
2.
|
I promise my special
protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary.
|
3.
|
The Rosary shall be a
powerful armor against hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat
heresies
|
4.
|
It will cause virtue
and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of
God; it will withdraw the hearts of people from the love of the world and its
vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls
would sanctify themselves by this means.
|
5.
|
The soul which
recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish.
|
6.
|
Whoever shall recite
the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its Sacred
Mysteries shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him
in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just, he
shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life.
|
7.
|
Whoever shall have a
true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the
Church.
|
8.
|
Those who are faithful
to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the
light of God and the plentitude of His graces; at the moment of death they
shall participate in the merits of the Saints in Paradise.
|
9.
|
I shall deliver from
purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.
|
10.
|
The faithful children
of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven.

you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary.

All those who
propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.
|
13.
|
I have obtained from
my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for
intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of
death
|
14.
|
All who recite the
Rosary are my children, and brothers and sisters of my only Son, Jesus
Christ.

Ordained in 1528 in the diocese of Genoa, Italy. Teacher of philosophy and divinity in Genoa. Professor of theology in Pavia, Italy for sixteen years. Master of novices and prior of several Dominican houses, working for stricter adherence to the Order's Rule. Inquisitor in Como and Bergamo, Italy. Commissary general of the Roman Inquisition in 1551. On 4 September 1556 Michele was consecrated Bishop of Nepi e Sutri, Italy against his will. Inquisitor in Milan and Lombardy in 1556. Created cardinal on 15 March 1557. Grand inquisitor on 14 December 1558. Part of the conclave of 1559 that elected Pope Pius IV. Bishop of Mondovi, Italy on 17 March 1560. As bishop, Michael worked to lead his flock with words and examples, and served as a continual messenger encouraging personal piety and devotion to God. Chosen 225th pope in 1566.
Upon his ascension to the papacy, Pius V immediately faced the task of enacting the reforms of the Council of Trent. New seminaries were opened, a new breviary, new missal, and new catechism were published; foundations were established to spread the Faith and preserve the doctrine of the Church. Pius spent much time personally working with the needy. He built hospitals and used the papal treasury to care for the poor. Pius faced many difficulties in the public forum, both in the implementation of the Tridentine reforms and in interaction with other heads of state. At the time of his death he was working on a Christian European alliance to break the power of the Islamic states.

#WEFACEPERSECUTIONFORTHESAKEOFGOD#
In today’s gospel Jesus said to his disciples “Remember the word I spoke to you, ‘No slave is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you.” Jn 15:20, this is really a tough saying. It's easy to think that the closer we grow to Christ the more we will be loved and understood by the world. We can think that everyone will see our holiness and admire it and all will be good and easy in life. In following Jesus we always have a price to pay.
Persecution is something from which we should not run. We should not despair if it happens and we should not hold our head low. Why? Because persecution is a clear sign that we are following in the footsteps of our Master. We are more deeply united to Christ as a result of persecution than we could ever realize. If we truly love God then we will submit to his truth and obey his word. A friend of God cannot expect to be a friend of the world because the world is opposed to God's truth and way of righteousness.
Beloved, lets ponder on the persecutions or injustice we suffer for the sake of our faith and embrace of the Gospel. The Lord wants to use that if you let Him for our glory . Lets pray for the grace to challenge our own attitudes, to reduce our insensitivities, to decrease our hatefulness, and to increase loving approach to all our sisters and brothers that we encounter. Lord, may we not only imitate You in Your suffering, but also in Your willing embrace of it. Have a blessed weekend.

POPE'S MORNING HOMILY
There is always resistance to the surprises of the Spirit, but it’s the Spirit who continues to lead the Church forward. That was Pope Francis’ message at Mass today at the Santa Marta chapel as he reflected on the reading about division and resistance within the early Church in Jerusalem.
Commenting on today’s reading from Acts about the Council of Jerusalem, Pope Francis said the protagonist in the Church is always the Holy Spirit. It’s the Spirit who, from the very beginning, gives strength to the apostles to proclaim the Gospel and it’s the Spirit who carries the Church forward despite its problems.
Even when there is an outbreak of persecution, the Pope said, it’s the Spirit who gives believers the strength to stand firm in the faith, even if they face resistance and anger from the doctors of the law. In the passage from Acts, the Pope noted, there was a double resistance to the Spirit, from those who believed that Jesus came only for the chosen people and from those who wanted to impose the law of Moses, including the practice of circumcision, on those who had converted.
There was great confusion over all this, the Pope said, but the Spirit led their hearts in a new direction. The apostles were surprised by the Spirit, he said, as they found themselves in new and unthinkable situations. But how were they to manage these circumstances? Pope Francis said the passage begins by noting that ‘much debate had taken place’: no doubt heated debate, because on the one hand they were pushed on and on by the Spirit, but on the other, they were facing new situations that they had never seen or even imagined, such as pagans receiving the Holy Spirit.
The disciples were holding a ‘hot potato’ in their hands and didn’t know what to do, the Pope said. Thus they called a meeting in Jerusalem where each one could recount their experiences of how the Holy Spirit had been received by the Gentiles. And in the end they came to an agreement. But first , the Pope noted, “The whole assembly fell silent, and they listened while Paul and Barnabas described the signs and wonders God had worked among the Gentiles through them.” Never be afraid to listen with humility, the Pope said. When you are afraid to listen, you don’t have the Spirit in your heart. When the apostles had listened, they decided to send several of the disciples to the Greeks, the pagan communities, that had become Christians to reassure them.
Those who converted, the Pope continued, were not obliged to be circumcised. The decision was communicated to them in a letter in which the disciples say that “The Holy Spirit and we have decided….” This is the way of the Church when faced with novelties, the Pope said. Not the worldly novelties of fashion, but the novelties of the Spirit who always surprises us. How does the Church resolve these problems? Through meetings and discussions, listening and praying, before making a final decision. This is the way of the Church when the Spirit surprises us, Pope Francis said, recalling the resistance that emerged in recent times during the Second Vatican Council.
That resistance continues today in one way or another, he said, yet the Spirit moves ahead. And the way the Church expresses its communion is through synodality, by meeting, listening, debating, praying and deciding. The Spirit is always the protagonist and the Lord asks us not to be afraid when the Spirit calls us. Just as the Spirit stopped St Paul and set him on the right road, so the Spirit will give us the courage and the patience to win over adversity and stand firm in the face of martyrdom. Let us ask the Lord for grace, the Pope concluded, to understand how the Church can face the surprises of the Spirit, to be docile and to follow the path which Christ wants for us and for the whole Church.
