TODAYS REFLECTION 2ND WEEK OF EASTER WED APRIL 6

TODAYS REFLECTION 2ND WEEK OF EASTER WED APRIL 6 ( Acts 5: 17- 26, Jon 3: 16-21)

#APERFECTPROOFOFGODSLOVE#

Beloved reflecting on the gospel of today we discover that lovers hold nothing back but give the best that can be offered to their beloved, including all they possess, even their very lives. God proved his love for us by giving us the best he had to offer - his only begotten Son who freely offered up his life for our sake as the atoning sacrifice for our sin and the sin of the world. Abraham's willing sacrifice of his only son, Isaac, prefigures the perfect offering and sacrifice of God's beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

In the gospel today, we hear strong words, “People preferred darkness to light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come toward the light, so that his works might not be exposed. But whoever lives the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God.” The doing of evil results from loving and choosing the darkness, while the doing of good deeds leads one to come into the light.

The gospel also reminds us that ongoing commitment to good deeds is required to become more deeply involved in the light and to be part of the ongoing revelation of the light: “That it may be clearly seen that their deeds have been done in God.” Let us pray that God grants us courage, so that we are committed to doing good deeds and being in the light, and that we may freely desire HIM above all else and love all others generously for HIS sake and for HIS glory.  AMEN.
