TODAYS REFLECTION 5TH WEEK OF LENT THURS MAR 17

TODAYS REFLECTION 5TH WEEK OF LENT. MEMORIAL OF ST PATRICK, THURS MAR 17 (  Gen 17:3-9, Jn 8 : 51-59 )

#GODSWORDSBRINGSLIFELETSBELIEVEANDLIVE#

Friends reflecting on the readings we discover that God made us to know him and to be united with him and he gives us the gift of faith and understanding so that we may grow in the knowledge of what he has accomplished for us through his Son, Jesus Christ. When God established a relationship with Abraham, he offered him an unbreakable "everlasting covenant" (Gen 17:7). Jesus came to fulfill that covenant so that we could know the living God and be united with him both now and for all eternity.

Beloved, In the gospel, Jesus' claim challenges the very foundation of the belief of the Israelites and their understanding of God. His  series of claims are at the very foundation of his life and mission. Jesus claims that the only way to full knowledge of the mind and heart of God is through himself. Jesus also claims unique obedience to God the Father. His words are "living and effective" (Heb 4:12), and "spirit and life" (Jn 6:63). Finally today HE SAID, If we keep Jesus' words, we "shall never see death" (Jn 8:51). What a loving assurance to us.

In Jesus alone we see what God wants us to know and what he wants us to be. To read, pray, and share God's Word daily,
love, live, and obey God's Word, work and do anything we can to reach as many people as possible. He is the immortal timeless One, who always was and always will be. He is God who became a man for our sake and for our salvation. Let us appreciate the word of God and believe in the promises of God.

Pray for me today friends as I join the church to commemorate St Patrick my patron Saint so that like him I will be a man of prayer and continue to bring the good news to those in need of it. May ST PATRICK PRAY FOR US.
